Milktopolis

Hi,

4 people, 11 months of loooooooong weekends, and a tight budget = Milktropolis. Our build team visionary, Jon Zensius really wanted to make something based on the idea of a round lounge or club type couch, I wanted something iconic. We landed on a bowl of cereal and carton of milk.

We chopped the back half off of his ford explorer and added a lot of wood, fiberglass and spray foam.

After getting the boot from the city of Pleasant Hill, CA… we moved out to a workspace at NIMBY in Oakland.

You enter through a spoon ladder and exit via a pool slide. Our driving controls are upstairs and are a mix of mechanical (bike chains for steering) and electric (power window motor) for gas and brakes

We drilled, placed and hot glued over 5000 LED lights, everything runs on a 1000w portable generator.

We are just putting on the finishing touches and will be loading it up onto a flatbed this coming Saturday for transport to Burning Man.
